Just Show Up

Sometimes you just don’t feel like it.

Sometimes you just don’t feel like it.

There could be many reasons, you’re too tired or too busy, it’s too late or too early, but the outcome is the same, your motivation is low and you just don’t feel like it.

How can you combat this?

Just show up. Show up, even if you don’t feel like it.

Showing up inserts you into the activity.

This can be used for anything, studying, working or exercising.

I have a 9 to 5 job, that’s more like 8 to 6, but that’s another conversation.

My point is that after working all day, the last thing I want to do is exercise or study.

As it’s after work, exercise is the preferred option, as I know I don’t have the right energy to study.

But sometimes, I just don’t feel like it.

There’s delicious dinner, comfy couch, new Netflix, options that are so much easier and more appealing than exercise.

**So what I do, is put on my uniform, and just show up. **

Even when I get there, I still might not feel like it, but because I’m there, the exercise happens.

It didn’t matter how motivated I was before, whether I felt like training or didn’t feel like training,

I showed up, and the activity happens,

For study, I set my alarm an hour or two early than normal and “Just Show Up” to do my study.

Just showing up, helps you to be consistent and consistency is one of the best ways to help you achieve success.

Consistency helps you to overcome any reason that might prevent you from doing something, because if you’re consistent, you’re actually doing it.

**Consistency trumps intensity. **

Consistency will help you build upon the gains of previous days, where as intensity does the opposite and is not sustainable.

It’s much better to perform a task for 1 hour each day, 7 days a week, than it is to do 7 hours, on one day, once a week.

So next time you don’t feel like it, just show up and let consistency carry you like a wave to success.
