The 2mm Rule
What’s the 2 mm rule? It’s the idea that you’re only ever 2mm away from success.

What’s the 2 mm rule? It’s the idea that you’re only ever 2mm away from success.
The concept of The 2mm Rule is from Tony Robbins and it is that small changes can bring massive results.
Tony shares a story about a cosmetic surgeon who helps his client achieve beauty and how just adjustments of 1 or 2mm, radical changes how a person looks when it relates to the perception of physical beauty.
If you think about it, this is really interesting because the average person has two eyes, one nose and one mouth.
Essentially we’re the same, but why are some people considered more attractive than others?
For physical attractiveness, it’s all got to do with the relative proportions of a face.
There’s a measurement called the Golden Ratio, which is 1 to 1.618.
It’s also known as the God ratio or Divine Proportion and it occurs everywhere in nature.
Our eyes are attracted to objects with this ratio and this includes the human face.
So on the face, there’s many of these ratios. I find this fact fascinating so I’ve included the link to a video for you to see for yourself.
And that’s what cosmetic surgeons do, they change the proportions of a face by just millimetres to increase the attractiveness of their clients.
Now, imagine you’re on a shooting range and you’re aiming for a target. That target is 1000m away.
Over that distance the difference of 1mm or 2 in your aim, is going to be the difference between you hitting or missing the target.
It’s just a fraction of a degree between success and failure.
Keep in mind that the target is 1000m away. And like a target, your goal could be weeks, months, or years away.
So on days where you feel like you’re not achieving your goals and you’re way off target, don’t give up.
What you need to do is to pause, hit the reset button and reset your thinking.
Take a breath, take a moment, take the night off to reset.
But make sure you start again.
Remember to Just Get Started.
As long as you keep going, even if it’s by millimetres, you’re getting closer and closer to your goal.
You’re never more than 2mm away from your goal.
